New FIM Book Explores Civil Society and Participatory Democracy
FIM has a second book on the way! Global Governance, Civil Society and Participatory Democracy: A View from Below (Academic Foundation) is FIM’s second book, written by Nigel Martin and Rajesh Tandon.
Following FIM’s first book, this volume draws upon FIM’s organizational history and experience, highlighting trends within civil society and the rise of participatory democracy and identifying lessons learned along the way. Global Governance, Civil Society and Participatory Democracy: A View from Below will be published in partnership with PRIA. Coming soon in print and ebook.
Building Bridges Convenes in Quetta
On March 6, 2014 50 participants from across civil society in Pakistan came together for a Building Bridges in-country consultation. Participants were briefed on the history and mandate of the OIC and its Independent Permanent Human Rights Council (IPHRC) and the role of, and space for CSO activities in the OIC. Quetta participants adopted an agenda highlighting human rights and women’s rights as important areas for reform.
